Well, I cant believe I am about to start a blog about the topic of Our someday Little Fischies. Let me explain. Our last name is Fischer. So the little ones we will hopefully have soon are our little Fisch-ies. Ok, lame I know, but that's me :) Let me start off with a bit about myself. My name is Nikky, I am 26 years old. I work as a preschool teacher and assistant director of a daycare. I also am huge into the herbal/natural medicine scene. I have my own business making natural healing remedies and vegan soap. My husband Scott is 25. He owns his own farm, and is remodeling our house and roofing on the side. We have been married for 8 months, and have decided it is a good time to start thinking about kids. I have always surrounded myself with children. I began at 10 or 12 babysitting my neighbor when her mom needed to get some things done around the house. I basically just kept the kid busy. Then i began really babysitting at 12. My first job was at a girl scout camp nearby. I eventually went to college for Early Childhood Education and graduated with honors in 2007. I have been working professionally with children ever since.
So anyways, onto our TTC. I have always wanted to give birth naturally and drug free. Once i started researching all there was about giving birth i realized that i really want a home birth with a midwife. Some may think I'm crazy, but...that is besides the point. :) I would really really really recommend a documentary called "The Business of Being Born" if you want a different perspective on hospital births. After watching that movie multiple times (in one day) and doing more research i have made the decision. As long as my baby and i are in no danger, i will give birth at home. I will go into more detail about the whys in another blog. For now, let us move on...
I have also made this blog to track my cycles and to post resources that i may come in contact with. So here is your fair warning. THIS BLOG MAY CONTAIN GRAPHIC DESCRIPTIONS AND IS NOT SUITABLE FOR CHILDREN. READ AT YOUR OWN RISK. There, I said it.
Until next time...
Blessings!
N.
